Brain Ritchie
Brian
moved from Scotland to Canada with his parents when he was 4
years old. In 1971, French wine really got his attention
when he visited Paris for the first time. In the 1980’s,
Brian purchased grapes from Spagnols, hosted many crush
parties and made some wonderful wines at his own home.
Since then, Brian has traveled around the world and brought
back many interesting wines. For some twenty years, he
would go twice a month on wine procurement trips to Seattle
or San Francisco. When you see him in the shop next, be
sure to ask him for his opinions on English, Hungarian,
Moroccan, Japanese and even Chinese wines.
Karin Buchholz
After graduating from UBC,
Karin enjoyed working at FedEx for many years until she
discovered her true calling - becoming a winemaker. To
pursue this dream, she enrolled herself in the Sommelier
program at The Art Institute of Vancouver while working at a
specialty local produce supplier and here at our wine shop.
She is always happy to share her insights in pairing our
fabulous local wines with our locally grown produces.
Leilani Agnew
Even
though she grew up in the Okanagan, she was first introduced
to the area's wineries ten years ago on a road trip with her
husband. She is learning to appreciate the subtlies and
characteristics of the wines and particularly enjoys pairing
wines for her dinner parties. During the week, Lei works at
a property and casualty insurance intermediary in North
Vancouver.
Susan Gardi
Born and bred in West Vancouver, Susan developed a keen
interest in wine during her years in the hospitality
industry. Back in 2003,
Susan
was pleased to see a
specialty
wine shop opening in her neighbourhood and
considered joining our
knowledgeable team to further her interest in wine and
people.
We are glad that she finally joined us in 2005 as a
salesperson
to share her
love for BC wines with our customers.
Robert
Lau
Rob started the wine shop in 2002, and after a five-year
term as the Principal-in-Charge, he passed on all his
responsibilities to Simon and remains as an advisor to the
business.
Simon Chang
Simon developed his interest in wine many
years ago when he was working as a bartender during his
college days. Now he is the
Principal responsible for making Bellevue Wine Company
a pleasant and fun place to work as well as to shop.
Simon would love to hear from you if you
have any suggestions, compliments, as well as complaints.
